18 Week Update

  • How far along: 18 weeks
  • Size of Baby Kline: Sweet Potato
  • Weight Gain: 6 pounds
  • Food Cravings: Green Juice, Frozen Yogurt, air-popped corn
  • Food Aversions: None (although I still am not too fond of meat)
  • Guesses of Sex: No more guessing 🙂

Well the last month has flown by! If you didn’t read my first blog post, you can read about the beginning of our journey by clicking here!

To catch up on the last 4 weeks, I’ve had 2 doctor appointments. The first was to check up on me and the baby, which was all well. The second was the BIG one. Full body anatomy scan and the gender reveal!

Our week 18 appointment couldn’t have gone any better, going into this appointment I had no intuitions on the sex of our child, when normally I am relatively intuitive. I’ve had several dreams about both genders but the night before my dream was of having a baby girl.

The next morning’s early hours before our appointment seemed like days. As our ultrasound tech scanned every inch of the baby, she pointed out all the things she was looking for and confirmed that everything looked healthy (which trumps everything and anything),  finally as she reached the end, she asked if we were ready to find out. Of course, Devan had asked about 5 times prior if she knew the gender and if she did than to just blurt it out 🙂 His anxiety grew as she poked my little baby bump with her cold ultrasound wand. She made us patiently wait until the end, and confirmed in a reassuring fashion that we were having a girl!

We are so excited to have a daughter! Our hopes and wishes are to raise a healthy, strong, and independent women that dreams big and works hard to achieve her goals. I know we have the perfect environment to do that thanks to our business and all of the love and support that comes with it!

These last 4 weeks I have been feeling great, so much better than I was. My workouts have improved, my diet has improved (less “not-so-healthy” carbs to combat the nausea), and each day my body is changing and belly is growing! Today, my belly button has began the seemingly overnight progression to a full blow “outie”. This kind of sucks, I hope it retreats back to normal post birth.

Life for Devan and I has been crazy, in the best ways possible. Aside from my training my awesome Cornelius clients, we are continuing to grow our BBC family through franchising. We had two home run gym openings in Pineville, NC and Naples, FL! We have a whopping 12 more to open before our beautiful baby girl comes. Not to mention we are also in the process of building a new home to bring her home to, so you can imagine how blissfully excited we are. The dreams we have worked so hard for are coming true and I couldn’t feel more blessed to be in a leader and role model for strong women everywhere.

With that being said, I have often found myself stressing out about how the heck I’m going to “do it all” when the baby gets here. I’m the type of person that gives 100% to everything I do – my marriage, my career, my family, my friendships, and my personal development. I want to be the best mother I possible can without letting anything else fall through the cracks. That’s a tall order but I know baby Kline will only motivate me to exceed what I have ever thought was possible for myself and those whom I influence.

I have a new perspective and respect for mothers out there. I haven’t even began to understand the challenges and life changes that we are about to embrace. I’m surrounded by hundreds of women daily that  inspire me and encourage me that I can “do it all” and I couldn’t ask for a better support system. I am in the infant stages of motherhood but have the opportunity to learn from amazing moms each day.

During times of stress or uncertainty, it’s so important to surround yourself with others that will build you up and not let you fall – I’m lucky to have several of those people in my life, including YOU! The outpouring of love and support we’ve received from family, friends, and our BBC family is overwhelming.  So THANK YOU for always believing in us and being the inspiration to keep us going 🙂

Stay tuned – I will be sharing 3 new workouts that are safe and effective for pregnancy in my next blog post! Thanks for reading 🙂

Essential Oils

A good friend of mine had  this diffusing in her house when I went to visit her newborn baby. I loved the smell and the sense of calmness I felt when I was around them, so I knew I had to have them! I have used my essential oils the for various reasons but mostly to diffuse my house and clean the air 🙂

Lulu Lemon Wonder Under Pants

Anything with a draw-string, button, or zipper has been kicked to the curb. I’m pretty lucky that I get to wear workout clothes all day every day, but I have loved the high waisted wonder under pant from Lululemon. It fits perfectly over my growing belly.

Green Juices

I’ve always been a huge fan of juicing, but lately the taste of a refreshing green juice has been wonderful. I especially love the Sweet Greens from Clean Juice, a local juice bar in my area.
